Do you need a Carbon Monoxide Detector?
Carbon Monoxide, CO, is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas that causes about 300 accidental fatalities in homes each year; thousands more are treated in hospitals for CO poisoning.
If your home has gas appliances, an oil furnace, coal or wood burning stoves, these all can produce carbon monoxide when they are not burning efficiently.
The Boalsburg Fire Company after receiving a grant from Columbia Gas, in conjunction with First Alert, will be offering 125 free carbon monoxide detectors to the residents of Harris and College Twp. that we provide emergency services to. If you're interested in receiving a CO detector, contact the Boalsburg Fire Company through Facebook Messenger or e-mail us at boalsburgfire.com . CO Detectors can be picked up at the Boalsburg Fire Company, 113 E. Pine St. Tuesday March 29, 2022 between 6:00 pm. and 9:00 pm.
